ScreenshotPcsProtector (or Pcs Protector) is a rogue anti-spyware program that scams users by pretending to be legitimate. PcsProtector uses malicious Trojans to infiltrate the victim computer by means of rogue websites. Once active, PcsProtector will alter various system files to ensure it can run undetected. A new value will also be entered to the Windows registry allowing PcsProtector to run on start-up. PcsProtector can display fake alerts and warning messages attempting to persuade people to purchase a so-called "licensed version". Having the licensed version of PcsProtector will not clean the system of infections. To remove PcsProtector, a legit anti-spyware program must be used.
