PracticalDivision

Posted: July 27, 2020

PracticalDivision is an intrusive application that targets Mac computers exclusively. It is being spread online via fake downloads, software bundles and misleading promises – users who end up installing PracticalDivision on their computer will not notice any positive changes and, instead, the PracticalDivision may modify their system and browser behavior in a negative way. Some of the changes that PracticalDivision is linked to concern the presence of unwanted advertisements in Web browsers, as well as unwanted changes to a Web browser's settings.

One of the annoying things about PracticalDivision is that it redirects all Web searches to Safe Finder – while this page does deliver some search results, it cannot be compared to Google or Bing when it comes to reliability and functionality.

PracticalDivision is categorized as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP,) and having it on your computer is not recommended. Since it tries to gain persistence by applying changes to various Mac services, it is not recommended to try and remove it manually. You should complete this task with the use of a suitable Mac security utility.
