The Pro Search Tip extension is available for Google Chrome and Safari, and it promises to provide the users with an exciting and reliable new way to search and navigate the Web privately. However, the usefulness of this add-on is dubious since it does not appear to possess any major features that would benefit its users – instead, it seems to employ rather aggressive techniques to promote the search page Search.prosearchtip.com. When the users accept to install the Pro Search Tip add-on, they also permit it to set their default search engine to Search.prosearchtip.com – this means that all Web searches initiated through the address bar will be redirected to this search aggregator.

Extensions that bring changes of this sort should not be considered as a threat since they do not aim to cause any trouble on your computer. However, this does not change the fact that their presence can be rather annoying, and it is not a surprise that the Pro Search Tip extension has been tagged as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by many cybersecurity product vendors.

If you have installed the Pro Search Tip and you are not happy with the changes it made, we suggest that you take the required steps to remove it immediately. This can be done manually via your Web browser’s add-on manager or with the use of an up-to-date PC security scanner.
