PublicAdviseSearch

PublicAdviseSearch is a dubious browser extension that only bothers Mac users who rely on the Safari Web browser. One of the strange things about PublicAdviseSearch is that it may appear on your Mac computer even if you do not remember agreeing to install it – this is likely to mean that this Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) may use various tricks to drop its files on the computer silently. The good news is that PublicAdviseSearch does not carry out any harmful deeds, and it seems only to work in the Safari Web browser – according to the details on the Safari extension manager page, PublicAdviseSearch has permission to read/modify Web page contents and access the user's Web browser history. It may use these two permissions to inject advertisements in active Web browser windows or initialize unexpected redirects to other websites.

PublicAdviseSearch has no official website or publisher, and it seems that the sole purpose of this add-on is to trouble users by modifying their Web browser's behavior in unexpected ways. Mac users that see PublicAdviseSearch on their list of installed extensions, are highly advised to take care of its removal as soon as possible with the use of a suitable Mac security utility.
