PUP.Sambreel is a PUP (potentially unwanted program), which may alter the default browser settings on the Web browser. PUP.Sambreel may replace the default homepage and search provider with a questionable website, or open it in a new tab window of the Web browser whenever the computer user strives to open a blank page. PUP.Sambreel may be related to adware and, therefore, it may insert an associated plug-in, add-on or browser extension, and perform other unwanted actions on the computer system such as show disturbing pop-up advertisements on the computer system. PUP.Sambreel may also be associated with browser hijackers that may hijack the Web browser and unwillingly reroute PC users to unreliable websites. These websites were created with the goal to probably boost traffic of an unreliable website and, thus, generate advertising income from increased web traffic and clicks on ads. PUP.Sambreel may be distributed and insert itself into the computer as an additional application bundled with freeware that PC users can download from suspicious download websites.
