High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.

You also may get deceived that your machine is overwhelmed with junk files that need to be deleted immediately. The PUP sometimes claims that the computer is infected with advanced threats even if there are no harmful files whatsoever. The purpose of this tactic is to make you click on the green 'Fix issues' button. Of course, by doing so, you will not resolve the issues since they don't exist to begin with. Instead, the PUP will open a Web page that asks you to upgrade to the mentioned full version.
