PUP.ToolbarDownloader is a potentially unwanted program, which may modify browser settings on the browser. PUP.ToolbarDownloader may replace the default start page and search provider with a particular commercial website. PUP.ToolbarDownloader may be associated with adware, install relevant unwanted toolbars or carry out other irritating and potentially infectious actions on the targeted computer. PUP.ToolbarDownloader is not a malware threat but it may contain capabilities that permit it to disguise itself onto the compromised PC. PUP.ToolbarDownloader may also be connected with browser hijackers that result in annoying redirects to commercial websites. PUP.ToolbarDownloader may use misleading techniques to raise traffic on websites associated with it and make a profit via pay-per-click ads. PUP.ToolbarDownloader may enter the vulnerable computer packaged with freeware and shareware applications (download-managers, video recording/streaming or PDF creators).
