PUP.W1P1 is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) with adware and browser hijacker functionalities, which may occur on the computer as a potentially unwanted toolbar. PUP.W1P1 may be able to take over all the Web browsers that can be found installed on the PC. The main symptom, which may indicate that PUP.W1P1 may be installed on the computer, is constant pop-up messages about offers, discount coupons and other sales and deals. The creators of the offers and deals delivered by PUP.W1P1 may strive to generate advertising income by forcibly rerouting PC users to suspicious websites that pay for advertising them. PUP.W1P1 may keep track of the computer user's browsing habits and transfer and use this data for targeted advertising purposes. PUP.W1P1 may proliferate and enter the PC through bundled freeware that computer users download from questionable download websites.
