QuickLogin

QuickLogin is the name of a browser extension for Google Chrome, which claims to give users the ability to check their email inboxes with the click of a single button swiftly. While this might sound like a useful feature to have at your disposal, you should be aware that QuickLogin is categorized as a ‘Potentially Unwanted Program’ (PUP) by cybersecurity experts. A software of this type is not harmful, but its installation may introduce undesired changes to the configuration of Google Chrome. The change in question concerns the default new tab page – QuickLogin might replace it with a 3rd-party search engine whose services are unlikely to be as credible as Bing, Yahoo, Google, or other popular new tab choices.

The website that the QuickLogin extension promotes is very plain, and its search feature will bring the user results provided by Yahoo Search. This is welcome news since it means that the results will be reliable. However, you should not consider using QuickLogin’s new tab for a longer period because there is no way to know if this website’s features, functionality, and reliability will not change in the future.

The removal of PUPs like QuickLogin can be completed manually by using your browser’s extension manager. The automated alternative is to run a credible PC security tool that will scan the computer for any dubious software and prompt you to remove it.
