QuicklookPI
QuicklookPI is part of a legitimate Mac feature called Finder. However, it seems that some shady adware developers are abusing the name of legitimate features to disguise their intrusive software. For example, many macOS users report that QuicklookPI consumes significant hardware resources, or is being reported as threatening by security products for Mac.
If you have any reasons to suspect that QuicklookPI is involved in shady practices then we certainly advise you to run a reputable macOS security product to check for the presence of adware, hijackers or Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs). Failing to remove QuicklookPI is unlikely to result in hazardous consequences, but you may end up experiencing some of the undesired effects that the aforementioned software may cause. For example, you may have your browser's settings modified without your approval, or you may end up seeing more ads than usual while browsing the Web.
As mentioned earlier, the best way to make sure that you will not be bothered by fraudulent instances of QuicklookPI is to use a reputable anti-malware product, as well as avoid interacting with suspicious files.
