Quick Mac Fixer

Posted: July 13, 2020

Quick Mac Fixer is part of a series of fraudulent Mac applications that claim to have the ability to optimize Mac computers, therefore enhancing their performance and health. While there might be some minor benefits of using Quick Mac Fixer's services, you can rest assured that this utility is incapable of performing miracles when it comes to Mac optimization – the best it can do is to free up disk space by removing junk files. Unfortunately, many users might be tricked into thinking that Quick Mac Fixer is more useful than it actually is, because this application uses exaggerated reports and results to make minor issues seem more serious. For example, it may report that cleaning 0.7 MB of disk space has 'high improvement potential' – clearly, users will not benefit at all from having 0.7 MB of more free disk space.

Quick Mac Fixer appears to share the same interface as Total Mac Fixer, an application that uses the same tricks to get money from potential customers. Both of these appear to be the product of the same developer, and you should not trust either of them - Quick Mac Fixer and Total Mac Fixer are classified as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs.)

When Quick Mac Fixer is run for the first time, it will scan the Mac for potential fixes and optimizations, and then display a report of its findings. As we already mentioned, the report will be made to look very severe and serious, regardless of what the program finds – even the smallest of issues will be deemed serious by Quick Mac Fixer. Finally, when users try to fix the pending issues, they will be prompted to purchase the full license of Quick Mac Fixer that will unlock the cleaning feature. While Quick Mac Fixer is not dangerous, it clearly uses misleading marketing practices and falsified results to make the product seem more valuable.

If Quick Mac Fixer is present on your Mac, we suggest that you complete its removal by running a reputable and certified Mac security scanner.
