ReportLady is an adware program that injects advertisements into popular search engines, social networking sites and shopping sites. Although SpywareRemove.com malware researchers currently have found no evidence of ReportLady's advertisements including malicious content, ReportLady's browser changes do modify various Web pages and don't benefit your PC in any way that would make it worth keeping ReportLady installed. ReportLady and similar adware programs usually are best removed by anti-malware products that have the best chances of undoing the browser changes responsible for the non-consensual advertising displays ReportLady is well known for abusing.

Just the Facts About ReportLady, Ma'am

As adware, ReportLady's sole point is to display third-party advertisements without your consent. In lieu of the usual pop-up advertisements preferred by other types of adware, ReportLady's advertising takes the form of Web page injections that insert advertising content into popular sites like Amazon, Ebay and Google. These advertisements often are difficult to distinguish from the website's original content, although they aren't dangerous to your PC (since they promote websites that have been found safe, albeit not necessarily relevant to what you're browsing at the time).

ReportLady also has been found to include other traits that SpywareRemove.com malware experts often find in similar adware-based PC threats, such as:

  • Launching itself automatically as a background memory process that uses up PC resources (such as RAM) continually.
  • ReportLady updates itself automatically, which can allow ReportLady to add additional functions to its software that may be undesirable for your PC.
  • ReportLady may not allow itself (or its advertisements) to be removed by any of the usual program-uninstallation methods, such as the Windows Control Panel or even your browser's add-on management settings.

An End of Battle Report on the Skirmish with ReportLady

A ReportLady infection, while only a minor PC security issue, still should be considered as a case of unnecessarily intrusive software on your PC that should be removed without an excessive amount of delay. In particular, any ReportLady infection that appears without your willingly installing ReportLady should be treated as an equivalent case to a drive-by-download that also may be responsible for other, more serious types of malicious software than ReportLady. In either an intentional or accidental installation of ReportLady, you should expect the best results for deleting ReportLady with the use of strong anti-malware software.

Exposure to ReportLady's advertisements is not an anticipated infection vector or contact point for other PC threats, but SpywareRemove.com malware researchers continue to recommend that any victims of ReportLady advertisements use a bare minimum of wariness while interacting with ReportLady-related content. As adware, ReportLady has no reason to filter its advertisements for your personal safety, and you should exercise the same caution around ReportLady's advertisements as you would use with any links to potentially unsafe sites from unusual sources.
