Robotcaptcha.info
Robotcaptcha.info is a fake website, which has been set up with one single thought in mind – use social engineering tricks to get users to authorize it to display notifications. Users might encounter this page while browsing low-quality websites linked to the distribution of adult content, pirated media, software key generators, game cracks, etc. Often, these websites might display flashing notifications or a fake media player to leave users with the impression that there is compelling content to be viewed, but the case of Robotcaptcha.info is a tad different – it poses as a CAPTCHA service that asks the user to prove that they are not a robot by clicking the ‘Allow’ button. Performing this action will, however, allow Robotcaptcha.info to use your Web browser’s notifications to bombard you with advertisements.
Of course, having unsolicited notifications nagging you whenever you browse the Web is undesirable. This is a simple trick that shady Web administrators may use to advertise questionable services, software and content – we advise you not to trust any unknown notifications that show up in your Web browser.
If you suspect that you may have provided the Robotcaptcha.info page with permissions to display notifications, then we advise you to resolve the issue as soon as possible by revoking the site’s privileges from your browser’s settings panel manually.
