RocketPC

RocketPC is a software utility meant to provide the users with access to an easy-to-use tool that allows them to optimize their computers’ health and performance by getting rid of junk files, controlling the Windows startup entries, applying Registry fixes and other necessary optimizations. While the RocketPC can carry out some of these tasks, its installer might not inform the users that they can install the ‘free’ version of the product that provides them with access to the scanning utility only. Users who wish to apply any of the fixes and optimizations that RocketPC recommends may be asked to purchase a license key from Solvusoft, this product’s publisher. Security researchers have determined that RocketPC may generate a scan report that seems more severe than it really is to make it more likely that the user will opt to pay for the full product.

The RocketPC is categorized as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), and its installation is known to cause plenty of reminders and notifications that aim to inform the users that they have pending PC optimizations that must be applied. This is only a marketing trick to motivate the user to consider paying for the full product.

Paying for RocketPC is not recommended because there are free-to-use alternatives that can do a similar job when it comes to PC optimization. Of course, you should remember that RocketPC is a safe application, and it can indeed apply some optimizations if you pay. However, it uses deceptive tricks to induce the users into buying a license key, and it’s you who needs to decide whether you want to trust a tool that employs such tactics.

If you do not wish to use RocketPC, then we suggest that you remove it from your computer as soon as possible with the help of a suitable computer security tool.
