ScalableRemote

ScalableRemote is a piece of software meant to run on macOS systems. This program's goal is not to be helpful – instead, it tries to hijack your browser settings and redirect you to 3rd-party websites that may serve non-trustworthy or irrelevant content. ScalableRemote is considered to be a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP,) and you are unlikely to be troubled by it if you use a reputable macOS security scanner.

Users who have not protected their system sufficiently may end up installing ScalableRemote unknowingly. This might happen because of a fake download they fell for or because they were not paying attention to a software bundle's extra offers and instructions. When ScalableRemote is installed, it may redirect you to non-reliable sites whenever you load a new tab or try to search the Web. Suppose you perceive any of these changes and you did not approve them knowingly. In that case, you should use a macOS security tool to try and remove the intrusive application responsible for the problem.
