ScalableSkill

ScalableSkill is an intrusive Mac application whose installation may often go unnoticed – this is because the software is being spread via misleading advertisements, instructions, software bundles, fake installers and other dubious tricks. ScalableSkill does not serve any valuable purpose and, instead, it seems to be designed with the sole goal of replacing your Web browser's default search engine with a website affiliated with 'Safe Finder' – a search engine associated with many Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs).

If the ScalableSkill is present on your Mac, then it is likely that your searches will be redirected to 'Safe Finder' whenever you use your browser. The redirects that ScalableSkill causes are not unsafe, but they may expose you to more advertisements than usual – an event that is guaranteed to make your Web browsing sessions less enjoyable. ScalableSkill's installer does not simply drop this PUP's files on your computer – it also will apply changes to the 'Launch Daemon' and 'Device Profile' services to grant itself persistence.

To remove ScalableSkill properly, you need to use a Mac-compatible anti-malware service.
