Search.clarobuscar.com

Posted: May 25, 2018

Search.clarobuscar.com is a low-quality search engine, which appears to be powered by Bing.com but is not affiliated with the Microsoft's infamous search engine. The issue with this search engine is that some users report that it may start to appear in their Web browser on a regular basis even though they do not wish to use Search.clarobuscar.com. This strange occurrence may be owed to the installation of a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) or a browser hijacker whose intent is to modify the settings of the Web browsers to set Search.clarobuscar.com as the default new tab page or search aggregator.

Changes of this sort are not unsafe, and the software behind them is not an immediate threat. However, needless to say, such behavior should not be tolerated since it is likely to have an adverse impact on the user's Web browsing experience. The PUPs or hijacker, which might be responsible for Search.clarobuscar.com's aggressive marketing campaign, might often be installed thanks to false advertisements, which convince the users that they are about to install a useful utility when, in reality, they are installing a piece of software whose sole purpose is to promote Search.clarobuscar.com.

Security researchers found a series of other domains that are identical to Search.clarobuscar.com and appear to also be linked to PUPs and hijackers:

clarobuscar.com/search, gosrch.co, m.gsearch.co, portal.gosrch.co, m.searchfirst.online, mbrowser.us, m.mbrowser.us, my-search.online,isrch.co, m.isrch.co

If you start seeing Search.clarobuscar.com suddenly and regularly or any of other domains mentioned above, then we suggest that you run your favorite PC security scanner to remove any hijackers or PUPs, which might have caused the problem.
