Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Although search.mpc.am is not a threatening site, if your browser opens search.mpc.am automatically when you go online, you are most likely infected with a browser hijacker. These tools are similar to legit add-ons, with the only difference that they may try to take advantage of your online actions and not improve your surfing experience. The removal procedure also may require special security software. Even if you locate the questionable add-on in the add-on managers of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer, you may not be capable of deleting it manually. This browser hijacker may take control of your Web clients when you download a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) called MPC. The abbreviation stands for 'More Powerful Cleaner.' Allegedly, this tool should let you clean your PC from parasites and junk files to boost its performance, but it doesn't achieve what it promises. Search.mpc.am is a questionable search site, and its browser hijacker may be set as the homepage. As mentioned, this page, by itself, is safe and will not infect you. However, we cannot guarantee that the partner pages are also harmless. If you run a search on search.mpc.am, which is not recommended by any means, you may be exposed to dozens of sponsored links. The hidden ads may not be labeled in any way, which means you may receive no clues that you may go to partner sites. The affiliated platforms may not be the best-matching results to your queries. As a consequence, you may waste time going to irrelevant platforms. An even more worrying problem concerns the security of your PC. If some of the sponsored domains mislead you to download bogus updates for Java or Adobe, you may install other PUPs or threats unwillingly. Some sites may try to scam you by mentioning non-existent parasites and encouraging you to call phony support agents. In any case, using search.mpc.am you may be subjected to various risks. The experts suggest a reliable anti-malware application to delete the PUP 'More Powerful Cleaner' and its corresponding browser hijacker.
