Shield+ is not a legitimate browser that can block the online ads or shield you from incoming malicious files. It is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) made on the popular Chromium platform. It tries to benefit from your actions while you are surfing the web. Shield+ comes with a set in advance homepage that you may not be able to modify. It is a search platform, which doesn't provide accurate results as it tries to boost the traffic towards affiliated sites. If you run a search on it, you will encounter dozens of sponsored link in the best positions. These ads may not be labeled adequately. Shield+ is not an ad-blocker, so you shouldn't expect it to prevent the loading of the web ads. The PUP actually disables the commercial materials that the pages show. However, it sets its own ads in their place. Unfortunately, the new marketing elements may be much more irritating that those that you notice normally. Shield+ may bombard you with tons of persistent pop-ups, banners, sponsored videos, in-text ads or animations. Due to their constant presence on various sites, the operating speed of this PUP may be way lower than that of the popular browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. There are many more issues with this questionable application. Since Shield+ is a PUP, nothing can verify that your personal information is safe. It may not be a good idea to access your most valuable accounts through it as the credentials may go into the wrong hands. Typically, the sites include only safe ads to verified partners. However, the experts note that some ads by Shield+ may be corrupt. You may be redirected towards sites specially designed to obtain personal information from the visitors. Some misleading commercial materials may even transfer you to potentially malicious platforms, associated with various cyber threats. You may not succeed if you attempt to delete this PUP via the Control Panel, so you should use a dedicated spyware removal application.
