If you notice automatic system scans by Shield Plus Privacy Protector, you should not trust the results because the application is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). Although the interface of this application and the shield logo resemble some Windows services, Shield Plus Privacy Protector is not created by Microsoft. It is not a part of the standard version of the Operating System (OS). If you cannot recall installing this PUP, the explanation is simple – it primarily travels together with other freeware. If you skip the details during the setup process, you may agree to load it without even suspecting. Immediately after the installation of Shield Plus Privacy Protector is completed, the PUP will modify the Windows registries. As a result, the suspicious application will launch without your explicit permission with every system boot. After a thorough analysis, the cyber security specialists conclude that the scan results are highly exaggerated. The manipulated results almost always state that the PC of the user is in danger because there are various potentially harmful files and registry errors. In case the person attempts to clean his system, he will be encouraged to register and purchase the full version of Shield Plus Privacy Protector. The client will likely receive nothing for his money because this PUP is not a real malware removal application. Unless the person pays the requested sum, he may be bothered by some aggressive security warnings. For this reason, the recommended course of action is to use a real and reliable anti-malware tool to delete Shield Plus Privacy Protector.
