Shieldren is a potentially unwanted browser add-on that may declare to block children from encountering adult content including websites. Shieldren was developed by Revizer Technologies Ltd. and has been created for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Shieldren may seem to be a legitimate and useful browser extension; however, in reality, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program. Shieldren may generate and display disturbing online advertisements. Shieldren may propagate and enter the computer system as an extra application bundled with other free programs. After installation onto Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, Shieldren may start generating disturbing online advertisements including sponsored links, banner ads, discount coupon ads and pop-up ads. Shieldren may track the computer user's Internet surfing and record various online surfing information such as the default search engine, visited websites, search queries, location, IP address, MAC address and other similar software and hardware information.
