High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.

Ski Search is an annoying Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that attaches plenty of ads to the visited webpages. If you notice "Ads by Ski Search", "Brought by Ski Search" or anything similar, your computer is infected with this adware. The application is not malicious but nevertheless its presence is not desirable as it tends to cause negative emotions. The newly-created pop-ups and banners are often so stubborn and aggressive that they even slow down the browsing speed. If you follow them, you will generate a referral commission for the developers of Ski Search. As they try to expand their partner network as much as possible, the creators of the PUP may also unwillingly include a potentially harmful site. The corrupt domains often use scripts so the sole presence on them may automatically load malware. As the user doesn't benefit from Ski Search, he should consider removing the adware immediately for the sake of having a quick and safe browsing.
