Skype Scam Alert

Skype Scam alert, also known as Skype Protection scam, is a fake Skype-based alert message that appears when attackers contact your Skype account. The Skype Scam alert tries to make it look like the company Skype is announcing that the your computer is at risk of spyware. The alert messages are often titled as 'Online Notification' or 'Skype alert system'. These Skype Scam alert messages have links to dangerous websites that promote rogue anti-spyware programs, which are fake programs known to run bogus virus reports. The dangerous websites can use exploits found in your current web browser to infect your PC with other spyware, retrieve the affected user's Skype number and make it available for attackers to continue to send more fake Skype-based alerts. You need to use a legitimate anti-malware program to remove the Skype Scam alert and from your computer.
