Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

SN.Sustainer is an adware program that uses your Web browser as a vehicle to deliver advertising content automatically. The inescapable security implications of its functions, along with its poor business history, make SN.Sustainer a poor choice to keep on any browser, but its components may be installed in non-visible formats. Using anti-adware tools with good track records against similarly unwanted software is the recommended solution for deleting SN.Sustainer, as well as the browser changes that accompany SN.Sustainer.
A Sustainable Advertisement Ecosystem – to Your Browser's Detriment
In contrast to other, more honest adware than itself, SN.Sustainer is adware that may implement its advertising functions without bothering to install any visible elements, such as toolbars or interfaces for disabling its advertisements. Like all adware, however, SN.Sustainer modifies your Web browser to load its advertisements by default, which has the potential to expose you to potentially hazardous content automatically. Malware experts recommend paying attention to the following symptoms for SN.Sustainer, which may install itself automatically:
- SN.Sustainer may modify Web pages for loading additional banners and other HTML elements that are usable for advertising purposes.
- SN.Sustainer may redirect your browser, both towards interstitial advertisements and to some search sites, such as a sub-domain of omiga-plus.com. Redirects from SN.Sustainer may include changes to your homepage or search settings.
Malware experts also identified SN.Sustainer as a component of separate adware products, including Price Companion. These products may include visible components of their own, in addition to their advertisements. However, standardized methods of deleting software ordinarily may remove these visible elements without uninstalling SN.Sustainer or its advertisement-providing 'features.'
Getting to the Root of Unwanted Advertisements Sustainability
While legitimate software add-ons advertise their presence and allow their uninstallations to take place without much difficulty, SN.Sustainer uses non-consensual methods to install itself and even maintain its persistence on the system. As with any such product, particularly ones that include changes that could harm the safety of your browsing experience, malware experts can find no response more appropriate than removing SN.Sustainer immediately. Fortunately, they have yet to find any incidents of SN.Sustainer in the presence of any high-level threats that could thwart its removal by competent anti-adware products.
SN.Sustainer may install itself through bundles with desktop management utilities or other software of a supposedly benign origin. Malware experts only can confirm its compatibility with the Firefox browser. Despite that, threats all but identical to SN.Sustainer adware programs have been in distribution for years, and all popular browsers safely can be said to be equally affected by these threats.
Long term exposure to automatically-injected SN.Sustainer advertisements also may be infection vectors for the distribution of other PUPs or threats. While dealing with SN.Sustainer, you also should take the time to identify fraudulent update recommendations and other pop-ups that SN.Sustainer's advertisements may resemble superficially.
