The Threat Meter is a malware assessment that SpywareRemove.com's research team is able to give every identifiable malware threat. Our Threat Meter includes several criteria based off of specific malware threats to value their severity, reach and volume. The Threat Meter is able to give you a numerical breakdown of each threat's initial Threat Level, Detection Count, Volume Count, Trend Path and Percentage Impact. The overall ranking of each threat in the Threat Meter is a basic breakdown of how all threats are ranked within our own extensive malware database. The scoring for each specific malware threat can be easily compared to other emerging threats to draw a contrast in its particular severity. The Threat Meter is a useful tool in the endeavor of seeking a solution to remove a threat or pursue additional analytical research for all types of computer users.

The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:

Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.

Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.

Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.

Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.

% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Space Sound Pro is a Potentially Unwanted Program that provides audio features, such as virtual speakers, but also may modify your Web browsing settings. Space Sound Pro may install itself in formats that allow Space Sound Pro to maintain itself as a passive, background process that doesn't identify all of its files. Accordingly, PC owners should use anti-adware scanners and similar security products to detect Space Sound Pro software. Deleting Space Sound Pro, while not necessarily a security issue equivalent to disinfecting your PC, still is a net benefit for the performance and safety of most systems.

The Sounds of New Computer Problems

Space Sound Pro is an audio enhancement application developed by Asia Soft Interactive Advertising Ltd, and a possible clone of some of their previous products, such as 3DBubbleSound. Although Space Sound Pro does provide some legitimate audio playback based features, Space Sound Pro also may include several characteristics common to typically unwanted software, including unorthodox installation formats. Some of the symptoms malware analysts have linked to individual installations of Space Sound Pro may include:

Your browser's home page or search settings may be hijacked and reset to sites affiliated with Space Sound Pro.
Your browser may be forced to load additional advertising content, such as injected banners or sponsored search links.
Your PC may show declines in overall stability or resource allocation from Space Sound Pro using memory as a constant background process.

Space Sound Pro's marketing material at its Website, spacesoundpro.com, describes Space Sound Pro as 'the first high-end HiFi emulator on PC.' In contrast to these claims, malware analysts have found no evidence of Space Sound Pro including features separate from those of previous applications from the same company. They also found indirect connections between Space Sound Pro and similar, questionable software businesses distributing seemingly unrelated PUPs, such as driver update software.

Space Sound Pro is not a threat and visiting its Website will not harm your PC automatically. However, as a rule, you should consider removing Space Sound Pro and other PUPs that show no signs of providing significantly beneficial features to counterbalance their drawbacks to both performance and online security.

Turning Down the Sounds of Space Sound Pro

Space Sound Pro's Website does include uninstallation instructions for its software. However, malware analysts quickly found these generic instructions to be inadequate for removing most installations of Space Sound Pro. Some PC users also have reported of Space Sound Pro's uninstall routine attempting to install other PUPs during the process, which could introduce additional issues outside of this article's focus.

Security software including PUP detection and removal features also should be able to delete Space Sound Pro when scanning your computer.
