The Splending Mini-version Truetest is an adware extension, which appears to be targeted towards Russian-speaking computer users since this is the language used to describe the program on its official Chrome Store page. It is important to mention that researchers have not identified versions of the Splending Mini-version Truetest for other Web browsers so that we know that only users of Google Chrome are likely to be affected by the annoying changes that this add-on may bring currently.
According to the Russian presentation on the Chrome Store, the Splending Mini-version Truetest is meant to provide users with access to a neat button, which can display a miniaturized version of the website they are browsing currently. However, this feature's usefulness is questionabl, to say the least, and the side effects the Splending Mini-version Truetest might bring may often get in the way of the Web browsing habits of most users. The contents of the Splending Mini-version Truetest ads may vary, and it is entirely possible that sometimes they may lead users to suspicious websites or fraudulent pages, which might be part of a hoax. The recommendation is to avoid websites that seem to be shady, especially if they showed up in your Web browser out of nowhere.
The advertisements that the Splending Mini-version Truetest displays also are tailored to fit the interests of Russian-speaking users so that it is entirely possible that the majority of the ads might be written in Russian and promote services or products that are only available in the Russian region. Since the Splending Mini-version Truetest can be hardly be classified as useful, we advise our readers to remove this extension if they see it in the list of installed Chrome add-ons. The removal can be completed via the Chrome's add-on manager, or it also can be carried out with the assistance of an anti-malware software suite.
