Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

SpyGuarder is a fraudulent anti-malware program from the FakePowav family. Like its relatives SpyShredder, Rapid Antivirus, WinXDefender, Activate MSAntiMalware, AVDefender 2011 and SpyProtector, SpyGuarder is incapable of detecting PC threats. Although Win32/FakePowav rogue programs have distributed a certain amount of flexibility in their symptoms, SpyGuarder will always present itself in the form of an anti-malware product, create fake warning messages and make requests for you to purchase SpyGuarder (supposedly so that SpyGuarder can remove PC threats that are on your computer). Differences between types of SpyGuarder scamware products are superficial, and all of them, including SpyGuarder, have no benefit for your PC, which is why SpywareRemove.com malware analysts suggest that you use a good PC security program to delete SpyGuarder at the speed of light.
Why Guarding Your PC Against SpyGuarder Should Be a High Priority
To enhance its appearance of being a legitimate product, SpyGuarder uses a seemingly normal installation file that is a visual-friendly setup process, files that are placed in normal locations (such as the Program Files directory) and, in some cases, a desktop icon. However, all these traits of a normal program are just a cover for SpyGuarder's essentially fraudulent features that create warning messages about threats that aren't on your PC in the first place. Some standard types of error messages from SpyGuarder and other FakePowav-based PC threats include:
You exceed your trial removal quota. Please purchase full version.
Your system security status is LOW! Please change your security settings.
WARNING! [Random number] vulnerabilities found!!!
Dangerous malware and viruses have been found during last scan. It is strongly recommended to remove all found threats from your computer.
The majority of SpyGuarder's alerts will try to entice you to purchase SpyGuarder in one way or another. SpywareRemove.com malware researchers don't recommend this, however, not just because SpyGuarder is a waste of money, but because SpyGuarder also places your financial information into the hands of criminals who are likely to abuse it. If you have made this mistake, you can always communicate with your credit card provider and take their advice on how to secure your credit card from SpyGuarder's criminal partners.
Why SpyGuarder May Have a Little More Than Just pop-ups to Worry You
Because SpyGuarder and equivalent types of scamware belong to a family that's been updated as recently as 2011, you may also be in danger of other attacks by SpyGuarder or other PC threats that were installed alongside SpyGuarder. Typical issues that SpywareRemove.com malware analysts have often found to be included with scamware attacks include, but aren't restricted to:
- Browser redirects to fraudulent websites, especially sites that promote SpyGuarder or other types of scamware that are installed on your PC.
- Browser redirects that block off safe websites with fake error messages about unsafe content.
- Attacks against your security software; this can include blocking these programs so that they can't be launched while SpyGuarder is active or even direct attempts to damage the program's .exe files.
Nonetheless, if you remove SpyGuarder with a complete anti-malware scan as soon as you detect its presence, chances are very unlikely that SpyGuarder or associated PC threats will be able to harm your PC in a permanent fashion.
