ScreenshotSpywareScanner2008, SpywareScanner 2008 or Spyware Scanner 2008, is a rogue anti-spyware program that may be downloaded through a Trojan infection, either Zlob or Vundo, found on fake video codecs. SpywareScanner2008 uses fake scans, popups, and system alerts to scare computer users into purchasing the full SpywareScanner2008 program. SpywareScanner2008 may display a fake warning message that states "WARNING! Your system might be at risk!" on your desktop to lure you to download the free version.

After SpywareScanner2008 runs a scan, it will dislay false positives in its scan resutls along with a link that points to the full version of SpywareScanner2008. SpywareScanner2008 is a clone of AntiVirus 2008 Pro. SpywareScanner2008 may be very difficult to manually remove.
