StartupMaximizer by UpClick Malta Ltd. is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that you should not install. Although StartupMaximizer is advertised as a legit system optimization solution, this tool may not achieve any of the promised features. Its purpose is to make PC users upgrade to the paid version, which costs $29.95 per year. Since this application is useless, you should not consider paying anything. In some cases, StartupMaximizer may enter without the knowledge of the user. UpClick Malta is a company, which may spread its products in software bundles. If you load any cost-free software from random sites, it may attempt to bring PUPs like this one in addition to itself. To prevent this issue from happening you should use the 'Advanced' installation guide instead of the 'Quick' one. The first should let you decide for yourself which components in the bundle to load and which to skip. As soon as it enters, StartupMaximizer may start generating fake security alerts. To convince you to upgrade, this PUP may try to make you assume you are in trouble. The fabricated pop-ups may claim that there are hundreds of issues with your Operating System (OS). StartupMaximizer may assure you that there are broken Registry entries, junk files, potentially threatening applications and a lot of useless Internet files. If you attempt to fix or delete them, you may be transferred towards a payment page. Some PC users may get the wrong impression that this PUP works once they pay. After the upgrade, the fake scans, and disturbing notifications may cease to exist, but you were not infected in the first place. However, it is possible for StartupMaximizer to cause minor performance issues to trick you into believing you need help. You may face various errors if you try to delete this PUP on your own. You should use credible security software to eliminate StartupMaximizer permanently or else this bogus optimization tool may continue to bother you the next time you launch your computer.
