Styx Exploit Kit is an exploit kit, which redirects visitors of legal websites to a malicious landing web page that is created to analyze victimized PC user's systems for vulnerabilities. If Styx Exploit Kit finds any vulnerabilities, it exploits them to drop malware infections onto the targeted devices. Most of the security holes affected by Styx are in Java, but Adobe Reader vulnerabilities can also be leveraged to distribute malware threats. One exploit integrated into Styx targets is a TrueType Font parsing vulnerability. The final payload of Styx Exploit Kit is a downloader that distributes additional malware threats from the remote server. Depending upon the cybercriminal, the payloads are custom made and dropped to the corrupted PC.
