SugarSearch is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) that was developed by Super Web LLC to promote various retailers on the Internet. SugarSearch may state to enhance the PC user's Web browsing quality and improve shopping online; however, in reality, it may be based on affiliate marketing, and its main purpose may be to generate advertising income from increased traffic of suspicious websites that may be commercial. SugarSearch may spread and enter the PC as an additional program bundled with free software downloaded and installed from questionable download websites. Once installed, SugarSearch may start tracking the computer user's online surfing habits and create and show pop-up ads and messages based on his interests. The SugarSearch ads may carry discount coupons, sales, deals and offers to buy online. If the computer user clicks on the SugarSearch ads or messages, he may allow its creators to boost traffic of affiliated websites and benefit from affiliate links of SugarSearch.
