SupportFreeContent is a browser extension that may be compatible with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. It can be downloaded either from the official add-on repositories of these Web browsers or the add-on's official website found at hxxp://supportfreecontent.com directly. The official page reveals that this extension's purpose is to help users support their favorite content creators and websites by running their searches through a 3rd-party search engine affiliated with SupportFreeContent. The publishers claim that any generated ad revenue will be shared with the people behind the relevant results, therefore allowing users to enjoy an ad-free experience while supporting their favorite places and people on the Internet.

However, the installation of SupportFreeContent may be a questionable decision, because there is no proof that this extension does what it promises to do. The only major and noticeable change its installation brings is that it may modify the new tab page so that it refers users to a search engine titled 'SupportFreeContent.' This search page takes users to results provided by Google so that it is safe to say that using SupportFreeContent will not put your online safety in harm's way. Regardless of this, we are certain that most users would prefer to keep their favorite new tab page since it is very unlikely that they'll find SupportFreeContent's new tab page more convenient or functional.

Users who are interested in removing SupportFreeContent and restoring their browser's settings should start by navigating to their Web browser's add-on manager and uninstall SupportFreeContent from there.
