Supreme Savings Helper is a Web browser add-on that may display affiliated shopping advertisements while you browse third-party websites. Supreme Savings Helper also may show all the archetypal traits of a Potentially Unwanted Program, including suspicious distribution methods, no visible company history, and a needlessly obstruction uninstallation process. Unless you have pressing reasons for avoiding Supreme Savings Helper, you should consider removing Supreme Savings Helper with anti-adware programs as soon as you detect its browser advertisements.

A Supreme Helping of Shopping Advertisements

Supreme Savings Helper is a member of a common 'sub-genre' of adware: the shopping assistant that delivers advertisements in the form of coupons, product discounts and other retailer benefits. While its advertisements may be legitimately beneficial, Supreme Savings Helper also provides no guarantees that its affiliated advertisements hold any advantage over normal Web-searching alternatives. Supreme Savings Helper also may modify the content of loaded Web pages automatically, which may lead to problems with loading times, content accessibility or interactivity with the website's interface.

Adware programs that use automated means of displaying their content may be culprits for other attacks against affected PCs. Drive-by-download scripts, fake contests leading to phishing tactics and fraudulent security hotlines are some of the most prominent attacks that may be in distribution through Supreme Savings Helper. However, because Supreme Savings Helper doesn't display such content intentionally, Supreme Savings Helper isn't classified as a threat.

Malware researchers have verified at least two variants of Supreme Savings Helper: a Browser Helper Object for Internet Explorer and an extension for Chrome. In theory, these variants may be installed simultaneously, but most modern reports of installations have limited themselves to modifying one or the other browser, rather than both. Distribution methods currently in use for Supreme Savings Helper are heavily indicative of exploiting free software bundles and other installation methods that don't request your permission to install Supreme Savings Helper.

Helping Yourself to an Exit from Supreme Savings Helper

2013 was the year with the most confirmed reports of unwanted installations of Supreme Savings Helper, but Supreme Savings Helper and identical PUPs are likely to continue their distribution models through the usual channels. The latter may include free software sites and downloading networks, and you should scan files acquired from either of these sources before launching them, which will let your security software detect possible adware bundles.

Supreme Savings Helper doesn't display a removal entry for the Windows Control Panel, and tries to resist other, normal removal methods that would work for legitimate browser add-ons. Nonetheless, PUPs like Supreme Savings Helper lack any advanced means of blocking anti-adware products that could delete Supreme Savings Helper without any issues. Closing your browsers and using Safe Mode during any system scans also can help limit open instances of Supreme Savings Helper's components that could interfere with your removing its advertisements from all affected browsers.
