If you are a user of a Mac device and see SystemSpecial in your list of installed applications, then you should know that this utility has nothing to do with your system – this is a 3rd-party adware tool that will expose you to numerous advertisements while browsing the Internet. The SystemSpecial adware may use a broad range of advertising techniques to deliver as many advertisements as possible – banners, pop-ups, hyperlinked words/sentences, and even redirects are just some of the methods it may use to expose you to marketing content.

Users may end up with the SystemSpecial adware on their computers when they download a low-quality software bundle that uses misleading installation instructions to get them to allow SystemSpecial's installation. Another common way to introduce adware to your system unknowingly is to fall for a fake download or update that a random Web page offered.

Thankfully, SystemSpecial is not unsafe– the worst it can do is to annoy you by displaying advertisements that promote various content types. The advice is to remove the adware application from your system by using a reliable OSX anti-malware tool. Using proper security software should protect you from future problems with adware.
