Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

TodayInHistory is the name of a Chrome browser extension that can be qualified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). Even though the extension has an official website that hosts it, as well as a page on the official Chrome web store, it has a few properties and specifics, which puts it in the field of potentially unwanted software. Once TodayInHistory installs, TodayInHistory changes your default new tab behavior in Chrome. Instead of a blank page containing links to your most commonly viewed sites, your browser will now load a new Web page, showing a custom search box, historical trivia about events that happened on the current day, as well as a clock and a weather widget. Using the search box brings up a Yahoo Search results page with a URL that does not match the one Yahoo Search would produce for the same search query originally.
TodayInHistory has an EULA page on its own website, which states that it may "from time to time" provide links that will point to the sites of "third parties," which is likely to be advertisers who use the extension to push their content in your search results. The same document also states that TodayInHistory may disclose “certain information” about its users to third parties, which also is something users may want to keep in mind. The fact that with TodayInHistory installed you will need to make an extra click to start introducing a different URL in the address bar is just an added hassle. At least the uninstallation is effortless, as the extension can be removed or disabled in the usual way, by using the Chrome’s built-in Extension Manager.
