Trojan.Agent.ATWK is a malicious backdoor Trojan that is related to the deceptive email that informs about the supposed resignation of President Traian Basescu of Romania and tries to infect PCs. Trojan.Agent.ATWK is a part of a spam email, which is evidently sent from central press to television Antenna 3, reports the resignation of President and includes promising clips that show the reaction of the Minister of Tourism to the news. The beginning of the fake email is very catchy and has a subject line which mentions 'Traian Basescu resigns!'. The false email includes the message which says that Romanian president Traian Basescu has publicly declared on January 16, 2012 at an emergency press conference that he would resign during the week. The malicious email also says that a large group of people would arrive in the capital from across the country to rejoice this triumph. The fraudulent email provides a link to see the reaction of Elena Udrea jacket, which directs to an image, which is an executable file jpg.exe. Once the image is opened, the affected user's computer is compromised by Trojan.Agent.ATWK. Trojan.Agent.ATWK allows attackers to gain remote access and control over the affected PC user's machine. If you receive such malevolent email, do not click on the link and open the corrupt file to prevent Trojan.Agent.ATWK from infecting your PC.
