Trojan.Khan is a malicious Trojan, which aims at performing DDoS attacks. Trojan.Khan attempts to create floods of HTTP requests that are suppose to appear as legitimate web traffic, in an attempt at making DDoS mitigations much more complicated. One of Trojan.Khan methods is to flood an affected PC user with HTTP requests that seem to be crawler requests from search engines; this likely depends on the quite reasonable expectation that the hijacked websites will be scared of filtering out web requests from such crawlers for fear of seriously reducing their page rankings at Google, Bing and other search engines, and thus becoming effectively invisible to potential customers.
