Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Trojan.Malscript is a heuristic alert that's used for certain types of web browser-based attacks that use scripts to install PC threats without your consent. Since sources and symptoms for Trojan.Malscript can vary widely due to different variants and configurable instructions, you should use strong browser security and appropriate anti-malware programs to find and remove Trojan.Malscript before Trojan.Malscript can cause damage to your PC. SpywareRemove.com malware analysts have found that recent Trojan.Malscript attacks have been linked to fraudulent e-mail messages that claim to provide advice about preventing an epidemic. Since Trojan.Malscript e-mail messages don't provide real advice and are only useful for criminals to propagate their malicious software, it's recommended that you delete any epidemic hoax messages that you find in your mailbox.
Forbidding Trojan.Malscript from Popping Up in Your Browser
Even though Trojan.Malscript is a generic alert that can be applied to many types of PC threats that are hosted on a wide range of websites, the most common and recent Trojan.Malscript attacks have been solidly-linked to an epidemic-themed e-mail hoax. This hoax uses the subject line 'Epidemics in [Random locations]' and contains a warning about a supposed government cover-up of a contagious disease. It also provides a link, supposedly for instructions on how to save yourself from this fictitious epidemic, but the link actually is a method for introducing Trojan.Malscript to your PC.
Like all Trojan.Malscript alerts, this variant of Trojan.Malscript uses your web browser as a foundation for attack and infection. In addition to avoiding Trojan.Malscript's e-mail messages, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers also recommend the following actions to deflect Trojan.Malscript attacks:
- Keeping your web browser patched to lower the amount of security vulnerabilities that are present.
- Keeping an anti-malware program at-the-ready and patched to detect PC threats when they attempt to install themselves.
- Using security settings that block common exploits such as drive-by-download scripts that utilize Flash or JavaScript.
Responding to a Successful Trojan.Malscript Attack
If you suspect that you do have Trojan.Malscript on your computer, SpywareRemove.com malware experts recommend that you be on the lookout for unusual changes to your security settings, opened network ports, browser redirects or blocked programs – all of which are common signs of a Trojan infection. Other forms of malicious software may or may not be installed by Trojan.Malscript. However, a lack of visible symptoms shouldn't be considered an indication of low potency in the potential harm that Trojan.Malscript can cause to your PC.
Trojan.Malscript may not even necessarily have a separate file or memory process, or may take steps to conceal its files so that Trojan.Malscript can't be easily noticed. Due to the flexibility of a heuristic detection label like Trojan.Malscript and the high probability of the above issues occurring, you should always remove Trojan.Malscript with suitable anti-malware software instead of trying to catch and get rid of Trojan.Malscript without aid.
