Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Trojan.Muxler.3 is a Trojan that's designed to attack Mac operating systems by installing a related backdoor Trojan. Trojan.Muxler.3's preferred propagation technique involves piggybacking along with celebrity pictures in a .zip archive, which may leave victims of Trojan.Muxler.3 infections ignorant of the attack unless Trojan.Muxler.3's payload exhibits visible symptoms. Because Trojan.Muxler.3 and closely-related PC threats can be exploited for many types of attacks, including installing other PC threats or stealing personal information, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers recommend that you consider Trojan.Muxler.3 a high-level threat and use appropriate anti-malware products to find and remove Trojan.Muxler.3 with all due haste. Symptoms of Trojan.Muxler.3 attacks may vary or be difficult to detect, and as such, having pro-active security software to detect Trojan.Muxler.3 during its installation is a recommended safety measure.
Trojan.Muxler.3 – a Trojan That Uses Modeling Pictures to Shield Itself
Trojan.Muxler.3 was identified, along with its favorite propagation method, in March 11 of 2012. The .zip archive that contains Trojan.Muxler.3 has been known to use at least two separate names: 'Pictures and the Ariticle of Renzin Dorjee.zip' and 'FHM Feb Cover Girl Irina Shayk H-Res Pics.zip.' In either case, this zip file does contain actual pictures of the celebrity in question, but it also contains an executable file that's detected as Trojan.Muxler.3. Trojan.Muxler.3 is disguised to look like just another picture, and careless victims may click on Trojan.Muxler.3 before realizing that Trojan.Muxler.3 is an entirely different kind of file that's designed to install another PC threat, the backdoor Trojan BackDoor.Muxler.3.
As was found by SpywareRemove.com malware researchers, Trojan.Muxler.3's payload, BackDoor.Muxler.3, is specific to Mac-based computers and can be used for typical backdoor attacks such as:
- BackDoor.Muxler.3 may install other PC threats, such as fake security programs, spyware, browser hijackers or rootkits.
- BackDoor.Muxler.3 may take screenshots of your PC to steal personal information, including account passwords or financial data.
- Most significantly, SpywareRemove.com malware analysts have als found that BackDoor.Muxler.3 is also designed to install CurlUpload (AKA Trojan.Muxler.2), a Trojan that's able to upload your computer's files to a remote server for criminal perusal.
Barricading Off Trojan.Muxler.3's Risque Entrance
Trojan.Muxler.3 and other Trojans from the Muxler family are designed for Mac-brand computers, and if you're using Windows or another OS, you should be safe from Trojan.Muxler.3 attacks. If your PC does use an operating system that Trojan.Muxler.3 could attack, SpywareRemove.com malware experts recommend that you avoid suspicious zip files and images that bear a resemblance to Trojan.Muxler.3's classic Trojan method of entry. Having updated and competent anti-malware applications that can detect Trojan.Muxler.3 prior to or during its attack should also be adequate to stop Trojan.Muxler.3 from installing BackDoor.Muxler.3.
If you find yourself in the unenviable position of needing to delete Trojan.Muxler.3, you should scan your entire PC to be certain of detecting both Trojan.Muxler.3 and other Trojans that are consequentially installed as the result of a Trojan.Muxler.3 attack. Many related PC threats, such as Trojan.Muxler.2, will conceal themselves in unusual locations, and SpywareRemove.com malware experts don't recommend that you try to find and remove Trojan.Muxler.3 and its fellow Trojans by hand.
