Trojan.Ramage is a backdoor Trojan that exploits the RAM and other resources of computers that Trojan.Ramage infects to conduct large-scale DDoS attacks on arbitrary websites. Along with this function, criminals may exploit Trojan.Ramage to control your PC in other ways such as enabling the installation of extra PC threats or stealing personal information. Because Trojan.Ramage shows minimal signs of its presence and is often installed by Trojan droppers, SpywareRemove.com malware research team discourages attempts to find or remove Trojan.Ramage by manual methods; dedicated anti-malware programs should prove more than sufficiently adept at finding Trojan.Ramage and related PC threats which have a reputation for concealing their files in the form of fake system components.

Trojan.Ramage: Despite the File Name, Not Just Another Part of Windows

Trojan.Ramage is typically-installed by other Trojans that contain dropper functions, and installs the majority of its files in the Application Data folder. However, simply finding and trashing Trojan.Ramage's files isn't something that SpywareRemove.com malware experts recommend for you to take lightly, since Trojan.Ramage will also place files in your operating system's directories. Trojan.Ramage will even hide its files with Windows file names like 'svchost.exe,' which makes it difficult to detect or remove Trojan.Ramage without assistance from anti-malware products.

Trojan.Ramage may ignore default types of Windows security programs, since Trojan.Ramage will set itself as an exception to the Windows firewall when Trojan.Ramage is first installed. This also allows Trojan.Ramage to conduct other activities (such as transferring or receiving files) on your network without your consent. Trojan.Ramage's baseline behavior only requires Trojan.Ramage to gather basic identification info for your PC (your volume serial number and version of Windows), but SpywareRemove.com malware researchers warn that this behavior may change according to instructions that Trojan.Ramage receives from remote servers.

Shutting Down Trojan.Ramage So That Trojan.Ramage Doesn't Shut Down the Web

SpywareRemove.com malware analysts note that Trojan.Ramage is mainly-utilized to cause DDoS attacks AKA Distributed-Denial-of-Service attacks. These attacks don't cause direct harm to the infected PC, but are used to launch massive traffic-flooding attacks against websites that force the sites to crash under the server load. Sluggish performance and noticeably-excessive usage of system resources are the primary issues that Trojan.Ramage can cause to your PC, although removing Trojan.Ramage will also remove these side effects.

Since Trojan.Ramage changes the Windows Registry, disguises itself in the form of Windows files, hides files in multiple locations and may be accompanied by other PC threats you should always delete Trojan.Ramage by scanning your PC with appropriate anti-malware products. These scanners may detect Trojan.Ramage by the aliases of Win32/Flooder.Ramagedos or Win32/Ontonphu. After you delete Trojan.Ramage, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers suggest that you double-check your firewall's settings to be certain that undesirable exceptions and settings-based vulnerabilities are also removed.
