Trojan.Roraccoon
Trojan.Roraccoon is classified as a Trojan, an infection that usually spreads through the use of corrupted attachments, infected advertisements and downloads. Without proper anti-malware software working on infected computers, users may not even realize a Trojan is present in their systems and working in the background. The Trojan may be spying in the background, with threat actors having access to the user's information and maybe even banking data.
The usual symptoms of a Trojan infection may include lagging software, high memory usage, a slowdown in Internet speed and overall strange computer behavior that doesn't make sense. If you notice symptoms similar to these, you should run a proper scan of your computer as soon as possible, to block more damage to be done to your machine.
How do Trojans Spread?
The most common method of distribution for Trojans is seen through the use of email attachments, infected downloads or advertisements ridden with malware. It's possible that you may get your machine infected so that caution is advised when downloading software off the internet and when you receive and open emails. If you have received an email with an attachment, one that happens to be from a sender you don't recognize especially, avoid opening it immediately. Users are advised to ensure that the file is clean before executing it. Avoid opening advertisements from suspicious sources or websites, such as the 'install this plugin to view this video' tactic and similar shady requests from websites.
What Does Trojan.Roraccoon Do?
If the Trojan has been installed for long enough, it may grant access to your PC, and your information to the people behind the infection. If this ends up installing more damaging software, it's possible that this will be noticed only later. Passwords, logins, bank details, as well as other sensitive data may be recorded and monitored on, then shared with cybercriminals.
