Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

ULyrics is an adware program that provides both beneficial features (text lyrics to accompany your online music videos) and negative ones (injecting advertisements into your browser). Considering the tradeoffs involved require you to reduce the level of security for your browser in return for a basic feature you could find almost anywhere else, malware researchers don't find ULyrics to be a bargain, and recommend uninstalling ULyrics. ULyrics and other adware may refuse to clean up their unininstallations properly and may even continue to affect your browser after their removal, and deleting ULyrics with PC security tools can help prevent these issues.
Why You Shouldn't Be Happy to Sing with Ulyrics
ULyrics is a member of one of the broadest genres of browser toolbars that tend to provide extended advertising features but little of benefit to their users: music video lyrics-providing add-ons. Although ULyrics's lyrics features are legitimate, malware researchers find ULyrics's advertising features to be unnecessary security problems that may impact the performance of your browser. Typical ULyrics advertisements may be injected into Web pages not intended to display them and may harm your ability to load relevant content or interact with a site's interface.
Common security problems that often are attendant with adware like ULyrics include:
- Being exposed to misleading advertisement content that attempts to steal personal information, install threats onto your computer or sign you up for services with recurring fees.
- Being unable to control which sites you're loading through your browser's homepage, searches, new tabs or error pages.
- Additional features being added to ULyrics due to the use of an automatic update function that takes place in the background.
- Having your browser tracked via cookies, which some PC users consider an invasion of their privacy.
Terminating the Tune of ULyrics Advertisements
While the potential problems that may be caused by ULyrics form a good-sized list, the column under its benefits is limited, at best. Deleting ULyrics should come as second nature to anyone as familiar with adware and other PUPs as malware researchers, but if you need any extra assistance in doing so, don't be hesitant to make use of a suitable anti-malware scanner. While most anti-malware scanners specialize in detecting unreliable software, competent products also can handle adware, browser hijackers and other Potentially Unwanted Programs.
Since so few people would install them intentionally, ULyrics and many other adware add-ons often are reliant on the use of third-party sites for distribution. Read software agreements carefully, avoid sites with a history for adware distribution and use anti-malware scans on files before launching them. All of these behaviors can provide more than ample protection from common methods of installing ULyrics or other lyrical adware, such as LyricsSpeaker, Lyrics Party, LyricsOn or LyricsPal.
