unTabs is a browser extension that offers users to improve the Google Chrome performance by transforming their opened tabs in a neat little list, which only requires one new open tab. However, users have reported experiencing strange issues when they install unTabs, and some anti-virus companies have added the unTabs extension as a Potentially Unwanted Program' in their parasite databases. The installation of unTabs may sometimes be accompanied by unwanted side effects such as having the default new tab page of Google Chrome replaced by a 3rd-party one associated with the unTabs' software publisher.

unTabs has been taken down from the Chrome Store, and the download link on unTabs' official website does not appear to work so that it is likely that we might have seen the last of this program. Despite some of the negative side effects, the feature that unTabs offers works as expected, and reducing the number of opened Google Chrome tabs can reduce the amount of hardware resources that the Web browser consumes greatly. However, due to the poor reputation that unTabs has, we advise our readers to look for an alternative Chrome extension that offers similar functionality without the unwanted side effects.
