Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Web-start.org is a search engine that may rely on browser hijackers to bring new users to it. Browser hijackers linked to Web-start.org may be found in low-quality software bundles, but it is also possible that they may rely on other distribution techniques that work by tricking users into thinking that they are about to install a useful browser utility or another piece of software. The hijackers linked to Web-start.org may set this page as the user's default new tab page and homepage, but some variants also may modify the Web browser's default search engine too. Apart from the search field, Web-start.org also features a small collection of quick links to popular Web destinations like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Amazon, etc. The links don't include any pages that are considered to be threatening or of poor quality, so it is safe to say that Web-start.org is not a website that exposes users to harmful content.
While Web-start.org is not considered to be unsafe, it is difficult to trust a website that relies on browser hijackers to bring new users and to generate traffic to particular pages. If your default new tab page or homepage have been replaced by Web-start.org, then the cause for this is probably a browser hijacker that you may have agreed to install on your computer unknowingly. Often, browser hijackers may be disguised as toolbars or browser extensions that may be found in online ads or software bundles.
Getting rid of the Web-start.org browser hijacker and restoring your Web browser's settings to their default values is strongly recommended since Web-start.org is not considered to be a reputable search service. To do so, users should start by eliminating the browser hijacker that is causing the problem. This can be done in two ways – either by uninstalling unknown or suspicious browser extensions manually or with the assistance of a reputable anti-malware utility automatically. Once this issue has been solved, users should open their Web browser's settings panel and set their default new tab page, search engine or homepage to the website they prefer manually.
