Win32/Spy.Ranbyus is a banking Trojan that modifies bank-specific transaction applications to initiate fraudulent transactions for the profit of criminal entities. Win32/Spy.Ranbyus's attacks also include some functions that can be used to hide its fiscal tampering or even to deny the PC user access to bank services via fake technical pop-ups. While Win32/Spy.Ranbyus is designed to attack banks situated in eastern Eurasia, within that region Win32/Spy.Ranbyus is a prominent and highly invasive PC threat that SpywareRemovbe.com malware experts recommend exterminating immediately with competent anti-malware software. Failure to delete Win32/Spy.Ranbyus quickly and by appropriate methods may allow Win32/Spy.Ranbyus to steal large amounts of both money and personal information from your computer – assuming that you fall into one of Win32/Spy.Ranbyus's targeted regions.

Win32/Spy.Ranbyus: Tinkering with Your Tools to Make a Play for Your Bank Account

Unlike other banking Trojans, such as Trojan Zeus, Win32/Spy.Ranbyus doesn't utilize code injection or MitB (man-in-the-browser) style attacks to compromise your personal information. Instead, Win32/Spy.Ranbyus specializes in making malicious modifications to popular brands of remote banking software (or RBS). These attacks focus on bank accounts in Ukraine, Russia and other countries in eastern Eurasia and have already achieved especial prominence in the Ukraine.

Besides making fraudulent transactions that send your money to criminals, Win32/Spy.Ranbyus also may hide these transactions through additional modifications. These attacks take place on a program-by-program basis, modifying them as needed, rather than making any modifications to the basic Java environment (a technique that's preferred by the Carberp family banking Trojans).

SpywareRemove.com malware researchers also have seen cases of Win32/Spy.Ranbyus being used to block the PC user's access to said software. Blocked access may entail the usage of a Russian pop-up message that (once translated) shows a fake alert about technical work being performed on the program's server.

Locking Your Cash Up Tight from Win32/Spy.Ranbyus's Meddling

Win32/Spy.Ranbyus usually is installed by a separate Trojan dropper that may be distributed through spam e-mail links, social networking links, malicious advertisements and/or browser exploits. PC users in Ukraine or nearby regions are cautioned to take care when browsing unsafe sites and to use appropriate web-browsing protection features at all times. Because Win32/Spy.Ranbyus also possesses backdoor and botnet functions, Win32/Spy.Ranbyus may be reconfigured to make other attacks besides the ones that SpywareRemovbe.com malware experts have outlined above.

Like any well-made banking Trojan, Win32/Spy.Ranbyus doesn't show many symptoms of its presence and will avoid normal uninstall methods that could remove safe software from your computer. SpywareRemovbe.com malware researchers advise using nothing less than the best anti-malware products that are available to remove Win32/Spy.Ranbyus, which should be considered a high-level threat for all PC users in the afflicted regions. PCs in other countries, while not vulnerable to Win32/Spy.Ranbyus remain at risk to attacks from other banking Trojans (such as the infamous Keylogger Zeus).
