‘Windows-delight.info’ Pop-Ups

Posted: July 28, 2015

The pop-ups by windows-delight.info are fake security warnings, created by a very aggressive browser hijacker. If your system is infected by this suspicious add-on, you will be redirected to a subdomain of windows-delight.info as soon as you launch your web client. The page contains the standard error screen of the Windows operating systems, which is known as Blue Screen of Death (BSoD). The text on top of the blue-themed background states that the "Windows health" of your PC is critical, and there is an error 333 regarding your registries. Shorty afterwards, you will notice a pop-up that covers the whole screen. According to this notification, there is a suspicious activity in your system, which may result in the loss of personal information. You should remember that none of the displayed statements is true. These fake alerts urge you to call 1-855-223-9250 for assistance. The pop-ups promise that after you dial this number, you will get in touch with qualified Windows specialists. Although the domain contains the name of the most popular operating system, windows-delight.info is not associated with Windows in any way. Instead, your call will be answered by scammers. They will attempt to make you pay them a hefty sum of money to clean your PC, although it is most likely not infected with malware. The same phone number is also advertised on pc2techs.com, which is a fake technical support platform. You should ignore the bogus warnings and proceed with a system scan to delete the hijacker.
