Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

WindowsMangerProtect is a browser add-on that markets its services as a preventative tool against browser hijackings. Research by malware analysts also found adware-related functions in WindowsMangerProtect that could cause it to be an overall detriment to your web-surfing safety or quality of life. Although removing WindowsMangerProtect with an anti-adware product of your choice is the recommended response, you may form a personalized opinion on this software's suitability for your browser.
The Browser Protector You may Afford Losing
WindowsMangerProtect (also referred to by WdsManPro or Windows Manager Protect) is another Potentially Unwanted Program that justifies unwanted functions by promoting theoretical advantages accompanying them. Although WindowsMangerProtect claims to include functions meant to block unwanted changes to your default browser, malware experts have found limited evidence of these features in the application. However, they have found numerous signs of WindowsMangerProtect behaving as a standard adware product.
As adware, WindowsMangerProtect may modify your browser to load extra, affiliated content not necessarily related to which sites you navigate. Some symptoms of WindowsMangerProtect installations may include:
- Any changes to your browser's new tab settings, homepage settings or default search engine.
- The presence of text anchor links, sponsored search results, banners or other advertising content in sites that ordinarily don't host them.
- Pop-up windows and new tabs being loaded automatically.
Most popular brands of PC security products have classified WindowsMangerProtect as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), as a result of these functions. In keeping with this trend, malware researchers have failed to find signs of WindowsMangerProtect being worth categorizing as a threat, although its advertisements still may pose a threat to the safety of your PC.
Managing a Browser without the WindowsMangerProtect's Input
In addition to the degraded performance resulted from installing bloatware like WindowsMangerProtect, adware also is noted for creating a healthy range of Web security problems. The most typical of these problems include exposure to attempts to install threats via fraudulent pop-ups, as well as information-collecting Web tactics (or phishing attacks). Without any major advantages to keeping WindowsMangerProtect installed, uninstalling WindowsMangerProtect immediately becomes the most obvious, and safe reaction.
Recent attempts to distribute WindowsMangerProtect may be installing WindowsMangerProtect automatically, which implicates the potential exploitation of other PC threats. Although safe browsing habits and scanning potentially hazardous files are crucial for keeping PUPs and threats from any PC, post-installation, removing WindowsMangerProtect may require using dedicated anti-adware products. Changing the settings of your Web browser to suppress WindowsMangerProtect's symptoms is not recommended, and may leave unattended security vulnerabilities while removing the visible signs of any problems from WindowsMangerProtect.
WindowsMangerProtect doesn't link itself to any individual brand of Web browser. However, as per its name, malware experts can provide confirmation only for WindowsMangerProtect affecting Windows browsers.
