Woosh.pro is a browser hijacker that also is classified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) broadly. If you have Woosh.pro installed on your computer, you may notice your browser’s searches being redirected and using Woosh.pro instead of your regular search engine.

The reason for those redirects is usually an unwanted extension installed in your browser that redirects the search queries away from your original search engine. If you are seeing your regular searches showing up as if you had run them through coinup.org, this means that you have the browser extension installed. The hijacker also can swap your default homepage to Woosh.pro.

This unwanted software kind may be found in bundle installers, often accompanying legitimate freeware. Thankfully, it’s relatively easy to get rid of unwanted browser extensions such as Woosh.pro.

Simply click Chrome’s menu button in the upper right, select Settings, then click on Extensions in the left panel. This will make you see a full list of Chrome extensions installed on your system and you can select and remove Woosh.pro or any other unwanted add-on manually.

Even though browser hijackers are classified as low-threat malware, they still exploit your search queries and may collect details about your browsing habits, which should be avoided.
