Wuulo.com Screenshot 1Wuulo.com is a search engine website that uses a template similar to that of the ever-popular Google site. Although Wuulo.com appears to be similar to Google, there are instances of browser hijackers using redirects to force web browsers to load Wuulo.com without permission, which is sometimes symptomatic of malicious, fraudulent or advertisement-based (AKA spam) search engines. Since Wuulo.com is still an extremely new website that hasn't yet been fully analyzed by malware researchers or other PC security companies, you should be cautious when interacting with links or other content promoted by Wuulo.com. Browser hijackers that cause redirects to Wuulo.com and similar sites should always be removed hastily and with appropriate anti-malware software, particularly since they may include other functions that aren't as immediately visible as Wuulo.com redirects.

Wuulo.com: a New Search Engine with a Blank Slate Past

Wuulo.com is just one of many new search engines that have sprouted up in recent years, and like most such sites, Wuulo.com uses a familiar format to make itself appear reasonably trustworthy, up to the point of including the famous 'Feeling Lucky' search option. However, what sets Wuulo.com apart from more popular search engines is its seeming dependence on browser redirects for traffic. Browser redirect attacks that promote Wuulo.com or sites like Wuulo.com can be noted by symptoms that include:

  • When you attempt to navigate to or use a different search engine, you're being redirected to Wuulo.com.
  • When you click an unrelated link, including links from search results, you're being redirected to Wuulo.com.
  • Experiencing homepage changes that set Wuulo.com as your default homepage; although you may be able to change these settings, failure to remove the corresponding PC threat will result in your homepage being re-hijacked.

Where the Real Danger Lurks in a Wuulo.com Redirect

While redirects to Wuulo.com aren't necessarily very harmful to your computer, PC threats that are capable of browser redirects may also attempt to steal personal information (especially browser-transmitted user names and passwords), install other PC threats or block your ability to navigate to safe sites. As a result, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers recommend that you remove browser hijackers by scanning your machine as soon as you can get a reputable brand of anti-malware software. In some cases, altering the settings of your web browser may be able to stop your Wuulo.com redirects either temporarily or permanently, but this can only be considered, at best, a band-aid fix prior to the safe removal of the malicious software that's launching the Wuulo.com redirects in the first place.

SpywareRemove.com malware analysts also recommend that you keep security software available while interacting with both Wuulo.com and content that Wuulo.com recommends. Websites similar to Wuulo.com have been known to include malicious content and to promote PC threats such as rogue security products, and until Wuulo.com's safety levels are completely ascertained, a high level of caution is advised. Similar precautions should be taken for sites that strongly resemble Wuulo.com, such as Xooxle.net.
