Yoga Search

Posted: September 13, 2017

The Yoga Search is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), which works as a browser extension for Google Chrome. However, the add-on does not have an official page on the Chrome Store, nor does it have an official website. The only way to come across this extension is by downloading a software bundle, which includes an offer to install the Yoga Search. Often, these offers might claim that the Yoga Search is a state-of-the-art utility that can help enhance your Web browsing and searching experience by providing you with the most relevant results to you. However, the installation of the Yoga Search is highly unrecommended, because this extension requires permission to modify the Google Chrome's settings so that it can promote a website affiliated with the Yoga Search's publisher.

Users who have installed the Yoga Search on their computers either knowingly or not should be able to see this extension in two places – in the Windows Control Panel or the Google Chrome's Extension Manager. The extension will not just modify the default Chrome new tab to a 3rd-party search engine, but it also will modify the Chrome's primary executable so that it loads the unpacked extension automatically whenever it is started. This might mean that even if the user uninstalls the Yoga Search through Chrome manually, the extension will show up as soon as the Web browser is restarted.

The new tab the Yoga Search promotes is titled 'EZ Search,' and it appears to work as a functional search engine. In fact, attempting to use its search feature takes the users to the Yahoo Search so that it is fair to say that the search results will be reliable too. However, the dubious techniques used to spread the Yoga Search, as well as the fact that it uses suspicious self-preservation methods are good enough reasons to consider this utility's removal. The Yoga Search can be erased manually, but the recommendation is to use a credible anti-malware solution, which will guarantee the full removal of the Yoga Search's files.
